The Breast Lift & Fullness Restoration Center

You lost the weight. But it feels like you lost your breasts too.

Losing weight changed your life. For many women, it also changed the shape, fullness, and proportion of their breasts — empty, deflated, flat, or simply not belonging to the healthy, vibrant woman you've become.

You're not imagining it. It's one of the most common concerns women have after major weight loss. Whether you're considering a lift, implants, fat transfer, or you're just exploring, our goal is the same: to help you feel like yourself again.

A woman looking at her reflection in a mirror after major weight loss

You fought to lose the weight. You shouldn't have to lose this part of yourself.

You didn't lose your femininity

You didn't lose your femininity. You lost volume.

One of the biggest surprises after significant weight loss is how dramatically the breasts can change. Many women lose upper fullness, projection, volume, shape, symmetry, and skin elasticity. What remains is often loose skin surrounding much smaller breast tissue.

Empty. Deflated. Flat. Sagging. "Pancake breasts." Those aren't medical terms — they're the real words women use, and they're completely understandable.

Lost volume

Upper fullness and projection go first, and rarely return on their own.

Stretched skin

Skin that carried weight for years cannot retract to fit less.

Changed proportion

The nipple and breast fold descend, and clothing stops fitting the way it did.

If this sounds familiar…
  • "I miss my old breasts."
  • "They're empty now."
  • "I don't fill out my clothes anymore."
  • "I've never been happier with my weight — and never been less confident taking my bra off."
  • "My nipples point down."
  • "I don't feel feminine anymore."
  • "I don't recognize my body."

If you've had any of these thoughts, you're not alone.

Every woman's goals are different

There isn't one right answer. Only the right one for you.

Some women simply want their breasts lifted. Others want to restore the fullness they once had. Some prefer implants; others prefer using their own fat. Some just want clothing to fit again. The plan comes from your goals, not a package.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Reposition and reshape what you already have.

Excess skin is removed, the breast tissue is reshaped and moved higher on the chest, and the nipple is returned to its natural position. For patients with enough remaining volume, a lift alone restores shape without adding anything.

Lift with Implants

Shape and fullness together.

When the upper breast has deflated, a lift restores position and an implant restores volume. Doing both in one operation requires careful planning — the implant must be sized to the new envelope, not the old one.

Breast Augmentation

Volume when position is still good.

Some weight loss patients keep good nipple position and skin quality and simply need volume replaced. Silicone or saline, above or below the muscle, sized to your frame rather than to a number.

Auto-Augmentation

Rebuilt from your own tissue.

Rather than discarding the deflated lower breast, that tissue is rotated and secured to rebuild upper fullness. It is a technically demanding option for patients who prefer not to have an implant.

Upper Body Lift

When the roll continues past the breast.

Massive weight loss often leaves loose skin that continues from the breast into the side of the chest and back. An upper body lift treats the breast and that lateral roll through a coordinated set of incisions.

Revision & Reconstruction

For results that didn't hold.

Bottoming out, implant malposition, widened scars, or a lift that was done before your weight stabilized. Dr. LoMonaco is regularly asked to correct breast surgery performed elsewhere.

Not sure what you need?

Which option is right for you?

Most women aren't sure. Some think they need implants. Others ask for a lift. Others assume a mommy makeover is the answer. Here is the plain-language version.

Breast Lift

Best for women happy with their volume but wanting a higher, more youthful position.

Breast Lift + Implant

Best for women wanting both lift and restored fullness.

Breast Lift + Fat Transfer

Best for women seeking a modest increase using their own tissue rather than implants.

Breast Reduction & Lift

Best for women who remain uncomfortable because their breasts are still too large or heavy.

Recovery roadmap

Breast recovery is gentler than you expect.

Compared with a body lift, breast surgery is a shorter operation with a shorter recovery. Most patients are surprised by how manageable the first week is.

  1. 01

    Preparing for surgery

Labs, protein and vitamin targets, a mammogram if you're due, and a caregiver plan. Nicotine stops six weeks out.

  2. 02

    Sleeping

You'll sleep on your back, slightly elevated, for the first few weeks. A wedge pillow or recliner makes this far easier than it sounds.

  3. 03

    Support bras

A soft surgical bra goes on in the operating room and stays on nearly around the clock at first. Underwire waits until you're cleared.

  4. 04

    Returning to work

Most desk work resumes in one to two weeks. Sutures and any drains typically come out in that window.

  5. 05

    Exercise

Walking begins immediately. Lower body activity returns first, then chest and arms at around four to six weeks.

  6. 06

    Scar care

Taping, silicone, and sun protection begin once incisions have sealed. Scars fade over 12–18 months and are planned to hide under a bra.

  7. 07

    Healing milestones

Swelling settles through the first three months, and the final shape emerges by three to six months as tissue relaxes into position.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, before you call.

Once your weight has been stable for several months, further loss of breast volume is unlikely. That is exactly why we wait for stability before operating — additional weight loss after surgery can loosen the result and cost you volume you just restored.
